Last year’s edition of Poznan Wood Festival
First edition of Poznan Wood Festival was guided by the idiom: fauna and flora. Poznan was visited by sculptors from various parts of Poland, as well as Germany, Slovakia, Belarus, the Czech Republic and Lithuania. During the four festival days, the artists, as part of the Main competition, carved street furniture out of wood. The winning podium was taken by: Pavel Vrcula, Marcin Lichosyt and Zdzisław Gotfryd. The objects that were created in the Speed Carving competition, were sold at charity auctions, supporting e.g. Dziecko w Centrum foundation. There were also workshops for children – painting on wood and carving in clay. What is significant, the wood used during the festival was collected from broken and old trees, intended for logging.
